Effective drag on spheres immersed in a fluidized bed at minimum fluidization—Influence of bulk solids properties

The aims of this work are to elucidate the effects that bulk solids properties have on effective drag experienced by large spheres immersed in an emulsion group-B under minimum fluidization conditions and analyze ways which different suspensions react towards applied shear rates. To investigate this, magnetic particle tracking was resolve trajectory falling-sphere measurements size, density, sphericity were varied as well size density spherical tracers. resulting experimental scope included both rising sinking tracers full segregation in-bed stagnation set-up provided highly resolved tracer trajectories, from sphere can be calculated. For tracers, results showed increase angularity, reduced terminal velocity sphere. This effect correlated with bed expansion Hausner ratio, indicating a void space among is main reason for motion resistance.
